Health Insurance

Health insurance pays for medical costs such as doctor visits, tests, imaging, surgery and hospital stays, within the terms of your policy. The right choice depends on whether you are covered by Turkish social security (SGK), the hospitals you would like to use, your age and your budget.

At our office in Maslak we listen to what you need, explain the options clearly and help you choose. We serve customers from Sarıyer and across Istanbul in person, by phone and on WhatsApp.

• Complementary health insurance (TSS): for people insured with SGK. It pays the extra fee charged by SGK-contracted private hospitals, within policy terms.
• Private health insurance: independent of SGK. Covers inpatient treatment and, depending on the plan, outpatient treatment at contracted providers.
• Health insurance for foreign residents: for foreign nationals applying for a residence permit in Türkiye, matching the required duration and cover.
• Travel health insurance: treatment costs for sudden illness or accidents while travelling abroad; often requested for visa applications.

Complementary health insurance requires active SGK coverage and works at private healthcare providers that have an agreement with SGK. It pays the difference above what SGK covers and is usually more affordable.

Private health insurance does not require SGK and offers broader cover within the insurer’s network, depending on the plan. We can compare both based on your preferred hospitals and budget.

• Dates of birth and ID numbers of the people to be insured (passport or foreign resident ID number for foreign nationals)
• Your SGK status (for complementary health insurance)
• Preferred hospitals or city
• Your current health policy and previous insurance history, if any

The health declaration matters: conditions that existed before the policy starts may be excluded or accepted under special terms, depending on the insurer’s assessment.
